Introducing our new specialized treatment: What you need to know and who can have it

What is Myofascial Release Massage?

Pronounced as My-o-FASH-e-ul, this release massage technique focuses on pain around the myofascial tissues, the strong connective membranes that wrap, protect, and support muscles throughout our body.

Sometimes referred to as myofascial trigger point massage, which goal is to stretch, loosen, and release tightness and pain throughout the body caused by myofascial pain syndrome by giving more attention to the trigger points. It will then release muscular shortness and tightness, an instant pain relief!

Who should have Myofascial Release Massage?

People with chronic headaches, TMJ (Temporo-Mandibular Joint) disorder, carpal tunnel syndrome, venous insufficiency (appearance of deep veins on the leg), ongoing back, shoulder, hip, or overall body pain.

What to expect when you book a Myofascial Release Massage?

Your licensed MassageMNL therapist will begin massaging and stretching your trigger points with appropriate pressure until she feels the tension is fully released. Depends on the tightness and stiffness, multiple sessions may be advised.

Please note that there are areas on the body that our therapist will focus more on but you don't feel that that’s where the pain is coming from. This is because the Myofascial release massage works on releasing the other connected muscles that might be causing your pain. It allows reducing the tightness by releasing trigger points of the muscular system.

Are there any risks?

Myofascial Release Massage has very few risks and is sometimes actually recommended by medical practitioners. However, just like any other massage massage, we don’t suggest this to people with burns, injuries, or painful open wounds, fractures or broken bones, etc.
